As 2018 draws to a close, you’re probably starting to think about how to start 2019 off on the right foot. After all, new year new you, right?

Turns out you don’t have to think too hard about this at all. We’ve rounded up 5 easy ways that you can start 2019 feeling fresh, and ready tackle whatever the new year has in store for you.

  1. Set realistic and attainable goals - there are 365 days in a year for you to achieve your goals. So try not to start off the new year with a massive goal that, let’s be honest, you probably won’t achieve because it’ll end up being too hard. Instead, set yourself a bunch of small goals. Then set daily or weekly targets to help you reach these. You’re more likely to feel ready and determined to reach your goals if you can tackle them in bite sized pieces. Once you’ve achieved each goal, you can then set a new goal, or tackle a stretch aspect of your current goal(s).

  2. Get plenty of sleep - our bodies (and minds) repair and restore themselves while we sleep, which helps us to function well the next day. So, be sure to get in your 8 - 9 hours as this is one of the best ways to feel fresh, and ready to tackle the new year. Having trouble sleeping?   3. Do some exercise - not only does exercise help keep you physically fit and healthy, but getting the blood flowing is great for your mind. Why not try yoga - it has a ton of benefits for your body and mind. 

  4. Eat healthy food - your body may be craving this one after all the Xmas festivities! Food is fuel for our bodies and eating healthy meals and snacks will definitely help you start 2019 on the right foot. If you’re finding it hard to avoid the unhealthy snacks once you’re back at work in the new year, you could try some of these options.

  5. Drink plenty of water - water fuels our bodies too! Drinking around six to eight glasses of water is the daily recommended dose to keep your body and mind healthy, and will help you focus on making 2019 a productive year.
